How messaging works

Every task carries its own thread between the member who posted it and each member who applied or was invited. The thread opens with the task and is held within it. Once a task settles, its thread closes but remains readable.

A task booking multiple members also carries a group thread: the posting member and every booked member, in one conversation on the task. It opens once two members are booked and closes with the task; payments, edits, and cancellations remain between each booked member and the posting member.

To reach a member outside a task, a message request is sent from their profile. The request carries the first message; if they accept, the conversation opens.
